Timberland's Heritage, From the 70s to Today
Around 50 years ago, in 1973, Timberland was born, the American brand dedicated to the production of waterproof leather boots initially designed for workwear. Thanks to the great success achieved, the company soon expanded its range of footwear by exporting the iconic boots to Italy in the 80s, where they soon became the object of desire of the “paninari”, a youth movement in Milan that made the brand popular by making it known beyond its initially limited borders.
Today the brand has become a symbol of American hip-hop culture and an icon for generations thanks to its heritage and history: since the 90s. In fact, Timbs have appeared on stages, in the lyrics and music videos of the most famous American rappers like Notorious BIG, Tupac, Nas and the Wu-Tang Clan, on the feet of fashion insiders, on costumes for films and TV series, as well as boasting a series of limited editions and collaborations with the most interesting designers and creatives on the contemporary scene, like Veneda Carter, Samuel Ross of A-Cold-Wall*, Virgil Abloh, Supreme, Stüssy, Jimmy Choo and many more.
The Wrecking Boot capsule collection by SEDDYS
To celebrate the iconic brand again - after the model designed for Guè - SEDDYS has created a limited capsule collection of custom Timberland composed of Tokyo Boots in dark blue, made from rolls of fine Japanese denim, and Dakota Boots in light denim, made from whole second-hand Levi's jeans stock. This exclusive collection takes shape thanks to the upcycling technique, that is the creative reuse of materials or waste products to give them a new life and a new look.
Not just boots: two new custom accessories
Custom, upcycling and experimentation
Give new life to your Timbs with SEDDYS
We have thus created a new upcycling service which offers the possibility of transforming old Timberlands (but also other models of sneakers and footwear) damaged or simply unused, into something totally new. Through a process of recovery and restyling - not only of the materials used for the custom, but also of the base to be customized - we reduce waste and give life to a tailor-made, innovative and conscious accessory.
Each pair is carefully recovered and handcrafted, with artisanal care combining creativity, design and awareness. Each step of the process is designed to reduce waste: recovered materials and denim, basic product supplied by the customer directly from their wardrobe, without making a new purchase but relying on the creativity of the SEDDYS design team.
Thanks to SEDDYS, your old Timbs can come back to life with a completely renewed style and in line with your tastes. The final result is a tailor-made accessory, a unique piece that tells a story: that of the past of your Timberlands and their future in a more sustainable way.
